PANCHAGARH Aug 8, 2023 (BSS) - The 93rd birth anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesa Mujib, the wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was observed in the district in a befitting manner.

Marking the day, district administration arranged elaborate programmes
including placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangamata in front of DC office.

A special prayer was offered seeking divine blessing for the departed souls of Bangamata, Bangabandhu and her family members who embraced martyrdom on August 15 in 1975.

On the occasion, a discussion was held at the DC office conference hall room with Deputy Commissioner Md Johurul Islam in the chair.

The function was addressed, among others, by Civil Surgeon Dr Mostafa Zaman Chowdhury, Police Super SM Sirajul Huda, additional deputy commissioner Riaz Uddin, Sadar upazila chairman Amirul Islam, deputy director of district women affairs department AKM Ohahiduzaman Samrat and deputy director of local government department Azad Zahan.

On the other hand, district women affairs department distributed 70 sewing machines among women.

Similar programmes were also held in all five upazilas of the district.
