RANGPUR, Aug 6, 2023 (BSS)-Two cousins died after drowning in a pond while playing at Mobfarpara village of Alambiditor Union of Gangachara upazila of the district here today. 
 
Police and family sources said the deceased were identified as Rahima Begum, 18 months, daughter of Obaidul Haque and her cousin Sayeed Mian, 2, son of Abu Taleb of the same village. 
 
The two children were playing outside their houses around noon and they fell into the pond beyond the knowledge of their parents and neighbors. 
 
After frantic searching, the relatives recovered the two bodies from the pond in the afternoon. 
 
Gangachara Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Dulal Hossain confirmed the tragic incident. 
 
“An unnatural death (UD) case has been registered in the police station in this connection,” the OC added.
