JOYPURHAT, July 13, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced six people to

life-term imprisonment for killing a man in Sadar upazila in 2009.

Additional Sessions Judge of Joypurhat Md Abbas Uddin handed down the verdict
to Aminur Islam, Abdul Quddus, Abdul Hannan, Anowar Hossain, Md Dudu and
Ghutu. All of them were the residents of Kadipur village. The court also
fined Taka 10,000 to each of the convicts.

According to the prosecution, on March 7 in 2009, one Abdul Alim was murdered
at night at Kadipur village.

Following the murder, his wife filed a case accusing some unknown people with
Sadar Thana the next day.

On July 22 in the year, police pressed the charge sheet accusing the six.

Testifying witnesses and evidences the court gave the order.

Meanwhile, another court headed by the Judge Abbas Uddin sentenced a man
namely Yasin Ali to life-term jail for killing his wife in Akkelpur upazila
in 2000, said Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Nipendranath Mondol.
