CHATTOGRAM, Feb 20, 2023 (BSS) - The four-day-long National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign-2023 was launched in the city and 15 upazilas of the district with the aim of giving vitamin 'A' plus capsules to over 13 lakh children.

City Mayor Reazaul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated the city-level campaign this morning.

About 5000 volunteers and health assistants are engaged in administering the vitamin 'A' Plus capsules to the children at 1,321 centres under 41 wards of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC).

The CCC is providing Vitamin A+ capsules to 5.36 lakh children.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Bangladesh Jatiyo Pusti Parishad Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir inaugurated the district-level campaign at Boalkhali Upazila Parishad auditorium in the morning.

A total of over 8.45 lakh children are going to receive the capsules during the campaign.

Chattogram Civil Surgeon Office has appointed over 20,000 volunteers and health assistants to administer vitamin 'A' Plus capsules at 4,861 centres under 14 upazilas of the district.
