Govt to procure sugar, edible oil and lentils

DHAKA, August 12, 2026 (BSS) – The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved a number of procurement proposals placed by the Ministry of Commerce, including the purchase of 25,000 tonnes of sugar, 20,000 tonnes of refined soybean oil and 10,000 tonnes of lentils.

The approval came at the 37th meeting of the CCGP for 2026, held at the Cabinet Division in the capital with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud in the chair.  

Under a Commerce Ministry proposal, the committee approved procurement of 25,000 tonnes of sugar through the international Open Tendering Method (OTM). Indonesian company PT Trinity Cahya Energy was recommended as the supplier.

The committee also approved procurement of 20,000 tonnes of refined soybean oil through international OTM. The supplier recommended for the purchase was PT Trinity Cahya Energy of Indonesia.

The committee further approved procurement of 10,000  tonnes of lentils through local OTM. Nabil Naba Foods Ltd., Rajshahi, was recommended as the supplier.

The meeting also considered procurement proposals from the Roads Transport and Highways Division, Industries Ministry, Agriculture Ministry, Food Ministry, Energy and Mineral Resources Division, and Social Welfare Ministry.
