CIS-BCCI seeks voting rights for Joint Chambers in FBCCI

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2026 (BSS) - The President and Board of Directors of the Commonwealth Independent States-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CIS-BCCI) today urged newly-appointed Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Administrator Md. Fazlul Haque to ensure voting rights and fair representation for Joint Chambers in the apex trade body.

They made the request during a courtesy meeting with the FBCCI Administrator at its office in Motijheel in the city, said a press release.

CIS-BCCI President Jadab Debnath, along with the chamber's Board of Directors, congratulated Fazlul Haque on his appointment and presented him with a flower bouquet.

During the meeting, the CIS-BCCI president requested the FBCCI administrator to play a significant role through his leadership and guidance in protecting and promoting the interests of the business community and strengthening Bangladesh's overall trade and investment environment.

He also requested Fazlul Haque to provide voting rights to Joint Chambers in the election of the FBCCI Board of Directors, ensuring their meaningful participation in the governance of the apex trade organisation.

The CIS-BCCI delegation further sought the administrator's cooperation in reducing membership subscription fees for Joint Chambers and ensuring their fair and equitable representation in the FBCCI.

The FBCCI administrator appreciated the initiative of CIS-BCCI and stressed the need for further strengthening mutual cooperation and coordination among business organisations, particularly on matters of mutual interest.

CIS-BCCI Senior Vice President Tauhida Sultana, Directors Salma Hossain Ash, Md. Enamul Haque and Khan Md. Iqbal, Advisers Mahbub Islam Runu and MS Siddiqui and Deputy Secretary Md. Abdullah Al Mamun were present at the meeting.
