DHAKA, Oct 5, 2023 (BSS) - Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today sought South Korean cooperation to manufacture own brand cars in Bangladesh.

"We have made great progress in the infrastructure sector. There are many areas to invest in the sector. South Korean investors can take this opportunity. We are trying to manufacture our own brand cars," he said.

The minister said this while meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik at the Industries ministry in the city, said a press release.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including new investment in Bangladesh.

Park Young-sik said Hyundai has already produced cars at Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park.

Another famous South Korean company KIA is interested in starting operations in Bangladesh, he informed.

He said that there is a need to emphasize the establishment of large industrial factories in Bangladesh.

South Korea is ready to cooperate in this regard, he added.
