RANGPUR, July 4, 2026 (BSS) - Rangpur Sahitya-Sanskriti Parishad (RSSP), a cultural and literary organisation, organized a special programme titled "Fruit Taste" with the theme 'Madhu Mase Madhu-Rosher Abesh" (Infatuation with honey in the month of honey) on Friday night.
President of RSSP and noted literary and social worker Dr Nasima Akter presided over the programme held at its office on the Town Hall premises in the city, said a press release this afternoon.
RSSP Literary Secretary Afzal Hossain moderated the event.
The event was enlivened by discussions on fruits, the nutritional value of fruits, self-composed poetry and poem recitations by freedom fighter Professor Abdus Sobhan, writer, cultural personality Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu and RSSP Adviser writer Professor Atahar Ali Khan.
RSSP former President Hasna Hena Begum Rozy, Vice-president Sunil Sarkar, executive member SM Amjad Hossain Sarkar, poets and writers Advocate Masum Hasan, Dr Samarpita Ghosh Tanya, Regina Safrin, Abdur Razzaque, Sarathi Rani Saha, Aisha Siddika Lovely, Hai Hafi and Mahbuba Ara Begum Leena also recited poems.
Literary and cultural personalities Mahbubul Islam, Rasheduzzaman Babu, Chowdhury Mahmudunnabi Dollar, Bilkis Begum and convener of the special "Fruit Taste" programme implementation committee Dilip Kumar participated in the discussion.
RSSP president Dr Nasima Akter thanked everyone for making the programme a success.
The programme ended with the tasting of various seasonal fruits.
