JHENAIDAH, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - Fertilizer, seeds and other agricultural inputs were distributed today among 1,500 farmers in Jhenaidah under the government's agricultural incentive programme.

The initiative aims to increase the cultivation and production of summer onions during the Kharif-2 season.

The agricultural inputs were distributed at a programme held at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises at 10am. The programme was organized by the Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tarek Hasan attended the event as the chief guest while Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Masud Rana presided over it.

President of Jhenaidah Press Club Asif Iqbal Makhon, Additional Agriculture Officer Muhammad Junaid Habib and Agriculture Extension Officer Mir Rakibul Islam were also present.

According to Agriculture Department, each of the 1,500 selected farmers from different villages of Sadar upazila received 20 kilograms of chemical fertilizer, one kilogram of onion seeds, one kilogram of pesticides and two kilograms of polythene rolls free of cost.
