DHAKA, Aug 17, 2026 (BSS) - National hockey team goalkeeper Ashraful Haque Saad said the players are not sitting idle during the break announced by the team management rather, several players of the camp are continuing their training to maintain fitness ahead of their Asian Games campaign.

Saad said the players are continuing running and light training sessions every morning and afternoon to maintain their fitness. The entire team is eager to resume full-fledged preparations as soon as the visa process is completed.

The intensity of activities at the national hockey team's camp at Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium has eased somewhat.

To help the players recover from fatigue caused by continuous rigorous training and keep them refreshed, the team management earlier has announced a four-day break. However, several players have decided to remain at the camp during the break.

Ahead of the upcoming Asian Games, the entire team is scheduled to travel to Germany for a conditioning camp. The German Embassy in Dhaka could call the players for visa processing at any time.

For this reason, players who live far from Dhaka have decided to stay at the camp rather than risk missing the visa process.

Meanwhile, those living nearby have returned home to spend the break with their families.
