DHAKA, Aug 7, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh FIDE Master Tahsin Tazwar Zia moved into
a share of the lead at the Rudar XXXV-A Grandmasters Chess Tournament which
is now being held in Pozarevac, Serbia.
He secured reaching five points from seven rounds.
Tahsin climbed to the top of the standings by defeating India's International
Master Akash Sharatchandra Dalvi in the seventh round.
In the previous round, he held Russian Grandmaster Momchil Nikolov to a draw.
Tahsin is scheduled to face Russian Grandmaster Radoslav Dimitrov in the
eighth round before meeting India's FIDE Master Aarit Kapil in the ninth and
final round.
Tahsin must win both of his remaining games to secure a Grandmaster norm.
