Bangladesh U19 begin WC Super Six campaign against England

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Under-19 team will begin their
Super Six campaign of the Youth World Cup tomorrow (Monday) against England
Under-19 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

Bangladesh qualified for the Super Six with just one win, which came against
the United States of America (USA) . They lost their opening match to India
by 18 runs on the DLS method, while their fixture against New Zealand was
washed out due to rain.

India and New Zealand also advanced to the Super Six from Bangladesh's group.
However, according to tournament rules, Bangladesh will carry only one point
into the Super Six.

This is because the USA, whom Bangladesh defeated in the group stage, failed
to qualify for the Super Six, meaning that victory does not count toward
their Super Six points.

As Bangladesh shared a point with New Zealand due to the rain-abandoned
match, both teams will carry one point forward.

India, on the other hand, carried the full four points after winning their
group matches against both New Zealand and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's first Super Six opponent, England, also carried four points into
the stage. Bangladesh will play Zimbabwe on January 31 in their second and
final Super Six match.

A victory against England is crucial for Bangladesh to keep their semifinal
hopes alive, although progression will still depend on several other results.
