DHAKA, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - Captain Sabina Khatun slammed a brilliant hat-
trick saw Bangladesh women's team thrashed Pakistan by 9-1 goals in their
penultimate match of SAFF Women's Futsal Championship held at Nonthaburi
Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand today (Friday).
Apart from Sabina's hat-trick with four goals in the 8th, 16th, 34th and
40th, Noushon Jahan and Krishna Rani Sarkar struck twice each in the in the
10th and 12th, and 16th and 32nd minutes respectively while Nilufa Yeasmin
Nila supported them with a lone goal in the 10th minute for Bangladesh in the
one-sided affairs.
Anmol Hira scored a consolation goal for Pakistan in the 33rd minute of the
match.
With this victory Bangladesh maintained their domination in the points table
with 13 points from five matches while Pakistan stand sixth position in the
table with their previous collection of seven points playing their same
number of matches.
Earlier, Bangladesh made a winning start in the tournament beating India by
3-1 goals in their opening match.
The Sabina and Co, came from behind, played out to a 3-3 with Bhutan in their
second match and blanked Nepal by 3-0 goals in their third match and beat Sri
Lanka by 6-3 goals in their fourth match of the tournament.
While Pakistan earlier played out to a 1-1 with Bhutan, beat Sri Lanka 3-2,
defeated Maldives 3-1, and suffered 5-3 defeat to India and 5-1 to Nepal.
Bangladesh will play their last match of the championship against Maldives on
Sunday (January 25) at the same venue.
The table toppers at the end of all seven rounds of matches will be crowned
in the SAFF Women's Futsal champions.
