DHAKA, Jan 8, 2026 (BSS) - Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of its long-time and devoted supporter Ataur Rahman Ata.

Ataur Rahman, popularly known as 'Ata Bhai' in the sports arena, breathed his last at around 11pm on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. He was suffering from old age-related complications.

In a condolence message, the club said the board of directors of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, its donors, permanent members, former and current players, and employees were deeply saddened by his passing.

"We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul," the statement said.

Ataur Rahman Ata was a loyal and veteran supporter of the country's traditional football powerhouse Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and was widely respected within the sports community for his lifelong dedication to the club.
