DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS)- The Cumilla leg of the BRAC Bank-Prothom Oporajeyo Alo Women's Hockey project will be inaugurated on Saturday (Aug 15) at the Cumilla District Stadium, as part of an initiative to develop women's hockey talent at the grassroots level.
Senior officials of BRAC Bank, Bangladesh Hockey Federation general secretary Ishtiaq Sadeque and the Bank's local representatives are expected to be present in the inauguration ceremony.
The project aims to identify and develop talented female hockey players from seven districts.
A total of 175 girls -- 25 from each district—- will participate in twenty-day residential training camp under the experienced coaches.
Participants in the training camp will also be provided with hockey gear, sticks, balls and jerseys.
Training has already begun at two venues. The Narayanganj camp has been completed, while the Netrokona camp is currently underway.
Cumilla will be the third venue to begin field-level activities under this project.
