DHAKA, Jan 3, 2025 (BSS) - The BCF Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF), begins at BCF hall room tomorrow (Sunday). 

An inauguration ceremony will be held prior to the start of the tournament.

Md. Salim Fakir, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, is expected to open the meet as the chief guest.

More than 150 players will participate in the event, including International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, International Master Md. Minhaj Uddin, International Master Abu Sufian Shakil, International Woman Master Rani Hamid, FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid, FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FIDE Master Subrota Biswas, FIDE Master Mohammad Javed, and FIDE Master Syed Mahfuzur Rahman.

The tournament will be held in nine-round Swiss-league system and cash prize of Taka two lakh will be awarded to the winners'.
