Bangladesh cricket calendar 2026: Major events to look out for

DHAKA, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh's International cricket calendar for
2026 is set to be a busy one, filled with important bilateral series and
multinational tournaments.

After experiencing some ups and downs in 2025, marked by individual
brilliance, the national team is gearing up for another action-packed year on
the international stage.

In 2026, Bangladesh is scheduled to play a total of 10 Tests, 23 ODIs, and 12
T20 Internationals. Additionally, they will play four T20 matches during the
ICC T20 World Cup. If Bangladesh advance to the knockout stages of the
tournament, the number of T20 matches will increase.

The year kicks off with the ICC T20 World Cup, set to be jointly hosted by
India and Sri Lanka in February-March. After the World Cup, Bangladesh will
host Pakistan for a full bilateral series, which will include two Tests,
three ODIs, and three T20Is in March-April.

Following the Pakistan series, New Zealand will visit Bangladesh for three
ODIs and three T20Is.

After a brief gap in May, Bangladesh will host Australia for three ODIs and
three T20Is in June. This will be followed by a much-anticipated tour of
Australia in August. This will be Bangladesh's first Test tour to Australia
in 24 years. Their only previous Test tour in Australia was in 2003, when the
team, still new to Test cricket, lost both matches in the two-match series.

Bangladesh's last bilateral series against Australia was in 2008, when they
played three ODIs.

Before the tour to Australia, Bangladesh will visit Zimbabwe and Ireland.
After returning from Australia, Bangladesh will host India and West Indies
for separate series before wrapping up the year with a full tour of South
Africa.

The Bangladesh Women's Team will also have a packed schedule in 2026. They
are set to play three ODI series and five T20I series, including the T20
World Cup qualifiers and the main tournament.

The Women's team will host Sri Lanka and travel to Australia and New Zealand
