Tigresses' WC clash against India reduced to 27 overs

DHAKA, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS) -The Bangladesh Women's team's final match of the
ICC Cricket World Cup against India was reduced to 27 overs following a rain
delay twice at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur sent Bangladesh into bat first after winning
the toss after which a two-hour long rain delay forced to make it 43 overs
game.

The rain interrupted the game for the second time when Bangladesh reached 39-
2.

After a one-hour delay this time, the game was further reduced to 27 overs.

The match indeed held no consequence as Bangladesh have already made an exit
from the marquee tournament after enduring five straight losses since their
opening win over Pakistan.

India, meanwhile, have sealed the semifinal spot and will be aiming to keep
their winning rhythm intact ahead of the knockouts.

India handed a debut to wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry, while Kranti Gaud,
Sneh Rana, and Richa Ghosh are rested. Radha Yadav and Amanjot Kaur return to
the XI.

Bangladesh made one change, with Sumaiya Akter replacing Farzana Hoque Pinky.
