DHAKA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS)- Youngster Aich Mollah hit a fifty on his T20
debut as Dhaka Metro registered its second victory in the NCL T20, having
thrashed Sylhet Division by 23 runs at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium
today.
Mollah smashed a 33 ball-53 not out with six fours and two sixes as Metro put
on a respectable 161-3, a total that their bowlers defended with ease by
restricting Sylhet to 138-9.
Mollah and Shadman Islam's 96-run for the third wicket was key in setting a
good total for Metro, a partnership that eventually helped them back in
winning track after losing the last two matches.
Shadman, however, missed out his half-century after being out on 49. He hit
four fours and two sixes in 32 balls.
Earlier, captain Naim Sheikh gave the side a solid start with 36 off 32 while
his opening partner Mahfijul Islam made 18.
No batter of Sylhet could stand tall in the face of some disciplined bowling
from Metro.
Khalid Hasan and Amit Hasan scored 24 each for team-best, which highlighted
the team's plight.
Pacer Shohidul Islam caused the most damage for Sylhet, claiming 3-24.
