CUMILLA, Sep 09, 2026 (BSS) - The namaz-e-janaza of Amena Begum, mother of Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid, was held today.

The janaza was held after Zuhr prayers today at the Bijoypur High School field in Sadar Dakshin upazila of Cumilla.

Chairman of the Cumilla Development Authority (CDA) Udbatul Bari, Administrator of Cumilla City Corporation Yusuf Molla Tipu, Chairman of Cumilla WASA Ashikur Rahman Mahmud Wasim, 
Superintendent of Police Md Anisuzzaman, political leaders, people from different walks of life and devout Muslims attended the janaza.

Later, the deceased was laid to rest at the family graveyard in Paranpur.

A special prayer and munajat were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed soul after the janaza.

The people attended the janaza also expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Amena Begum passed away at her residence in Dhaka on Tuesday at the age of 103.

She had been suffering from age-related ailments for a long time. 

She is survived by three sons, five daughters, numerous relatives and well-wishers.
