CHATTOGRAM, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin today distributed tree saplings among Farhadabad School and College students in Hathazari.

The sapling distribution programme was held under the government's 'One Child, One Tree' initiative.

He handed over the saplings at the inaugural ceremony of the Chattogram Education Board's tree plantation campaign held on the school and college premises at 5:00pm.

Addressing the students, the State Minister said, "Consider the tree being given to you as your pet plant and take care of it. Through this, you will demonstrate your sense of responsibility and become part of the green revolution in Bangladesh."

Presiding over the event, Chattogram Education Board Chairman Prof. Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury said, "We will come back again in a year or two. One day, we might visit your homes along with the honorable Member of Parliament to check whether your sapling is still thriving."

The event was attended by Board Secretary Prof. Mohammad Zahirul Haque Swapan, Deputy Director (Accounts and Audit) Prof. Mohammad Ekramul Haque, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muhammad Abdullah Al Mumin and Farhadabad School and College Governing Body President Kazi Saiful Islam Tutol, among others.
