DHAKA, Aug 27, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today imposed a travel ban on Bangladesh Awami Jubo League chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, his wife Nahid Sultana and one Tajnin Wahab Bristi over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Shahjahan Kabir passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said that it is currently investigating allegations that Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash acquired illegal assets through money laundering by conducting transactions involving a large amount of money in bank accounts held in his own name and in the names of individuals and entities linked to his interests.

“Therefore, in the interest of conducting a proper investigation into the allegations, it is essential to prevent the persons concerned from leaving the country,” it added.
