RANGPUR, Aug 27, 2026 (BSS) - Muhammad Mahbubur Rashid officially took charge as the new Police

Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) tonight.

He replaced his predecessor Mohammad Abdul Mabud, who handed over responsibility as RpMP

Commissioner this morning and took charge as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range

of Bangladesh Police at noon today.

After arriving in Rangpur at around 10 pm, the new Police Commissioner paid a courtesy call on

newly appointed DIG of Rangpur Range Mohammad Abdul Mabud.

Later, Additional Police Commissioner (Administration and Finance) of RpMP Naresh Chakma warmly

welcomed the new RpMP Commissioner Muhammad Mahbubur Rashid with flowers at the Rangpur

Metropolitan Police Officers' Mess around 11 pm.
 
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Ops) Tofail Ahmed, Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic)

and Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (CTSB) Maruf Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB,

Headquarters and Administration and Crime) Sanatan Chakraborty and other senior officers of RpMP

were present.
