DHAKA, Aug 18, 2026 (BSS) - The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing 
Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs of the 13th Jatiya 
Sangsad (JS) was held today at the JS Bhaban with committee Chairman Md 
Monirul Haque Chowdhury, MP, in the chair.

The meeting began with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an 
introduction session.

At the meeting, heads of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, the Jatiya 
Muktijoddha Council, Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust and the 
Directorate of July Mass Uprising made presentations on the activities of 
their respective institutions, said a press release of parliament 
secretariat.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee chairman himself led a 
munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls who were killed during 
the July Mass Uprising.

Committee members, including Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ahmed Azam 
Khan, MP, State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain, MP, 
Lawmakers Md Fazlur Rahman, Md Abdul Hannan, Amir Ejaz Khan and Rokeya Begum 
attended the meeting.

The secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, heads of 
departments, directorates and agencies under the ministry, senior officials, 
and concerned officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were also present.
