DHAKA, Aug 18, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Mohammadpur station overnight arrested 30 individuals as part of a special anti-crime campaign under its jurisdiction.

Mohammadpur police station's officer said that they netted the 30 people on charges of various crimes like mugging, drug trading and theft in their latest drive carried out by several teams.

According to a press release issued here today by DMP's media and public relations division, the suspects were produced before a Dhaka court.

It said the arrested are Md Saidur Rahman Saeed alias Pichchi Saeed (37), Md Rubel Hossain alias Bhatija Rubel (35), Md Shawon (40), Md Sharif Hawladar (30), Md Afridi (27), Md Hossain (26), Md Hossain, Md Hossain Bhuiyan (21), Md Jamal, Md Zakir Hossain (32), Md Zainal Abedin (32), Md Tanvir Hossain alias Maura Rakib (26), Md Saddam Hossain (47), Md Nayan (20), Md Swapan Sardar (38), Md Russel (28), Md Mehedi Hasan (25), Md Imrul Hasan (39), Md Rashed Islam (19), Md Rakib (18), Md Sagar Hridoy (19), Md Jony (21), Nur Islam (20), Md Al Amin (20), Md Sagar (19), Md Palash (22), Golam Rabbi (24), Shahriar Sardar (22), Mostafizur Rahman (20) and Abdul Momin (30).

The DMP said that the arrested include accused facing regular cases and involved in various crimes. Police recovered a pistol, a magazine, four rounds of bullet and 80 pieces of yaba tablets from their possessions.
