DHAKA, Aug 4, 2026 (BSS)-As part of the observance of July Mass Uprising Day -26, the Department of Mass Communication today inaugurated a mobile music campaign using trucks at its headquarters here. 

The department's in-house music ensemble was divided into two groups, which performed patriotic and inspirational songs across various busy locations in the capital.

The inauguration was held in the morning at the premises of the Department of Mass Communication headquarters. The programme was formally inaugurated by the Director General of the department Md. Abdul Jalil. Director (Publicity and Coordination) Dalia Yasmin delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance and historical context of the July Mass Uprising.

Speaking as the chief guest, Director General Md. Abdul Jalil said the July Mass Uprising represented a powerful expression of the social and civic consciousness of country’s young generation. 
He noted that young people have played a vital role in driving positive change throughout the history by standing against injustice, irregularities, discrimination and oppression, while contributing significantly to the empowerment of the people.

He said that the movement, which began in 2024 following a court verdict related to quota reform, later evolved into the July Mass Uprising. The sacrifices made by many lives, he added, created a memorable chapter in the nation's history and further strengthened the people's aspiration for empowerment. 

He expressed his hope that the historic struggle of the youth would continue to inspire future generations.

The Director General also said that the department's artists had composed and were performing inspirational songs reflecting the spirit and message of the July Mass Uprising. These songs, he said, would foster patriotism, positive social values and the desire to contribute to the country's development, while inspiring people across the generations.

Through the mobile music campaign, the department is taking the message of the July Mass Uprising, youth civic responsibility and positive social transformation to the people in different busy areas of the capital.

Among others, Director (Technical and Training) Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin, Director (Administration and Finance) Syed A. Mu'men and officials and staff members of the department, were present at that time.
