16 netted in special operation in Jatrabari

DHAKA, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested 16 people in a special operation in the Jatrabariarea of the capital, as part of an ongoing drive against crime.

Jatrabari Police Station carried out the operation on Monday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)said in a statement.

According to police, those arrested include suspects wanted in regular criminal cases as well asindividuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities.The operation was conducted to maintain law and order in the area, and similar drives will continue, the statement said.

Police said legal proceedings against the detainees are underway.
