DHAKA, July 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 98 people in separate anti-crime operations across the capital, while Shah Ali Police Station recovered 5.05 kilograms of cannabis and detained an alleged drug trafficker.
According to DMP, Tejgaon Division arrested 52 suspects during raids in crime-prone areas on Tuesday.
The detainees included six from Tejgaon Police Station, 11 from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, 12 from Mohammadpur, eight from Adabar, three from Tejgaon Industrial Area and 12 from Hatirjheel police stations.
In a separate operation on Wednesday, Mirpur Model Police Station arrested 35 people for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities, including wanted suspects in pending cases.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station also arrested 11 suspects in a special drive on Tuesday, including accused wanted in warrant cases and other criminal offences.
Meanwhile, Shah Ali Police Station arrested an alleged drug dealer, Md Tushar Khalifa, 20, during an early morning raid near Mukta Bangla Shopping Complex.
Police said they seized 5.05kg of cannabis, concealed inside a travel bag, along with a mobile phone.
