DHAKA, July 13, 2026 (BSS) — Police have arrested 30 people in separate operations carried out in three areas of the capital as part of an ongoing drive against crime, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has said.

According to a DMP statement, officers from Mugda, Uttara West and Turag police stations arrested 10 people each during raids conducted on Sunday in areas identified as crime hotspots.

Those detained include suspects in regular criminal cases, individuals wanted under arrest warrants and others allegedly linked to various offences, police said.

Officers at Uttara West police station also recovered 40 grams of cannabis during the operation, while Turag police said one child in conflict with the law was among those detained.

The DMP said legal action against the suspects is under way.
