DHAKA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - The government has accorded the status of a State Minister to Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority, with immediate effect.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification today granting him the status, along with salary, allowances and other benefits and facilities admissible to a State Minister while he remains Chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority.

The notification said the decision was taken to facilitate the chairman in discharging his responsibilities and strengthen the authority's role in promoting and facilitating investment.

The Invest Bangladesh Authority, operating under the Prime Minister's Office, plays a key role in attracting domestic and foreign investment and coordinating investment-related services and initiatives.
