DHAKA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - A tree plantation programme was held at Uttara High School and College today to mark World Environment Day 2026, with Dhaka-18 lawmaker SM Jahangir Hossain attending as chief guest.

During the programme, Jahangir distributed prizes among students who achieved scholarships and GPA-5 results and took part in tree plantation on the school campus.

Addressing the programme, he urged students to plant more trees to maintain ecological balance, mitigate the impacts of climate change and raise environmental awareness.

Uttara High School and College Acting Principal Faridur Rahman was also present, among others.
