DHAKA, July 8, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 432 people in regular anti-crime operations conducted across the capital in the last 24 hours, while 54 cases were filed during the period.
According to a DMP statement, the arrested persons include 50 from Ramna Division, 33 from Lalbagh, 59 from Wari, 49 from Motijheel, 49 from Tejgaon, 107 from Mirpur, 45 from Gulshan, 37 from Uttara and three by the Detective Branch (DB).
During the drives, police recovered 16.54 kilograms of cannabis, 446 yaba tablets, 32 grams of heroin, a motorcycle, a shooter machine, a wood-cutting machine, a grinding machine and a stand fan from the possession of the accused.
The operations were conducted in different police station areas of the capital as part of DMP's ongoing efforts to curb crime and maintain law and order.
The arrested persons were accused in cases involving narcotics, locally made weapons and other criminal offences.
Legal action against the arrestees is underway.
