CHATTOGRAM, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Land and Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has said no banned, anti-national organizations will be permitted to instigate chaos in the region, particularly while the nation awaits justice for the July massacre.

He also urged political leaders and activists to adhere strictly to party guidelines for peaceful assembly and avoid causing public distress.

Mir Helal made the remarks on Tuesday morning during a sit-in at the city's GEC intersection. Organized by the Chattogram Metropolitan Swechasebok Dal, the event protested the 'terrorist activities, anarchy and conspiracies' of banned groups.

Concurrently, the BNP and its affiliates held protest marches and road meetings across Chattogram.

"Our activists are positioned at various points to prevent unrest," Mir Helal told the gathering. "Street programs must align with party policies and leadership directives. We must remain vigilant to ensure the general public does not suffer due to our political activities."

The GEC intersection event was chaired by Chattogram Metropolitan Swechasebok Dal convener Belayet Hossain Bulu, with former Metropolitan Jubo Dal president Mosharraf Hossain Dipti and City Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal member secretary Shariful Islam Tuhin in attendance.

As part of a broader nationwide initiative against propaganda and unethical politics, additional demonstrations took place across the city.
