RAJSHAHI, May 16, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 669 families received Family Cards in Rajshahi as the second phase of the Family Card Piloting Programme was launched nationwide today.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the simultaneous distribution of Family Cards and allowances across 20 units of the country from Chandpur Government College ground in Chandpur this afternoon.
At the event, the Prime Minister initiated a digital transfer, instantly sending allowance money via mobile financial service (MFS) to the accounts of 14,370 women beneficiaries.
In Rajshahi, authorities distributed Family Cards among 669 families in three villages, Berpara, Dabirmolla Para and Darga Para, under Ward No. 5 of Haripur Union in Paba Upazila. The distribution was conducted through video conference as part of the nationwide programme.
The local programme was held at Baya Shishu Paribar Ground in Rajshahi.
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, and Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended the event.
Rajshahi-3 MP Adv Shafiqul Haque Milon, Divisional Commissioner Dr A N M Bazlur Rashid, Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam, DIG of Rajshahi Range Mohammad Shahjahan, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hasan, Director of Rajshahi Divisional Social Services Office Syed Mostak Hasan, and Paba Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ibnul Abedin, among others, were present.
