RAJSHAHI, May 15, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working tirelessly to build a new Bangladesh.
He is not just showing dreams, he is also making those dreams a reality. Under his leadership, the country is moving forward on the path of development, progress, and prosperity.
He made these remarks this afternoon as the chief guest at a prasad distribution and discussion meeting held at Omorpur Puja Mandir in Ward No. 17 of Rajshahi city, marking the conclusion of a month-long religious kirtan program.
At the meeting, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman said the Prime Minister has directed the development of mosques, temples, and other religious institutions. Following the Prime Minister's directive, special emphasis has been placed on the development of religious institutions.
"I do not want to just make promises, I want to show their implementation. This Rajshahi city belongs to all of us. We all must work unitedly to take Rajshahi city further ahead," he added.
During the event, when leaders of the Omorpur Puja Mandir Committee sought cooperation for the development of the temple, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Riton assured assistance regarding the temple's infrastructure development, construction of the main gate, and the adjacent road and drain.
The meeting was presided over by Deepak Lahiri Swapan, advisor to the Omorpur Puja Mandir Committee.
Special guests present were Nasim Khan, member secretary of Shah Makhdum Thana BNP, and Mohir Uddin Kalu, president of the Metropolitan Rickshaw Union.
Also present were Almas, former president of Shah Makhdum Thana Sramik Dal, Meher Ali, president of Ward No. 17 BNP, along with local leaders and dignitaries.
