Red Crescent promotes  culture of volunteerism - Mir Helal

CHATTOGRAM, May 13, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, emphasized the significance of the culture of volunteerism promoted by the Red Crescent in society.

He praised the Jamieson Red Crescent Hospital and Nursing Institute as a trusted facility for the people of Chattogram. 

He expressed confidence in the institution's progress through the adoption of modern medical equipment and the training of skilled nurses. The government pledged ongoing support for initiatives aimed at safeguarding maternal and child health.

“Our goal is to provide advanced medical services to marginalized people. We are developing skilled manpower through the Nursing Institute," said the state minister.

He made this statement during a meeting with the Management Committee, officials, and employees of the Jamieson Red Crescent Maternity Hospital and Nursing Institute, as well as members of the Youth Red Crescent at his residence this morning.

Mohammad Asif Chowdhury, Vice-Chairperson of the Hospital Management Committee, along with other members such as Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Raihanul Anwar Rahi, and Jahangir Alam Babar, attended the function.

Acting CMO of the hospital, Dr. Mahfuza Begum, Chief Administrative Officer Ashraf Uddaula Sujan, Youth Head Sirajul Karim Hero, Deputy Youth Head Abdur Rahman Opi, Deputy Head Abhishek Chowdhury, and Nursing Institute Principals Morjina Akhter and Mahdi Hasan were also present.
