DHAKA, May 12, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested a total of 96 people in separate special drives at Mirpur Model Thana and Tejgaon areas over the last 24 hours.

According to separate press releases issued by the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, Mirpur Model Thana Police arrested 48 individuals during a special operation conducted in different crime-prone areas under its jurisdiction. 

The drive was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order and ensure public safety in the area.

In a separate operation, DMP's Tejgaon Division arrested another 48 people from different police station areas including Tejgaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Mohammadpur, Adabor, Tejgaon Industrial Area and Hatirjheel.

Police said the coordinated drives were conducted as part of regular law enforcement activities aimed at curbing criminal activities and strengthening public security in the capital.

The arrested individuals were detained from various locations during routine checks and targeted operations based on information and surveillance.

All the arrested individuals have been produced before the court for further legal proceedings, the press releases added.
