CHATTOGRAM, May 12, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram City Mayor, Dr. Shahadat Hossain, announced that every child in Chattogram will receive the measles-rubella vaccine.
He stated that the city corporation has already achieved 94% of the vaccination target.
The mayor made the remarks during a coordination meeting on the measles-rubella vaccination campaign held at the Tiger Pass City Corporation office on Tuesday afternoon. He emphasized the importance of reaching all children in the city and instructed to ensure that the remaining children are vaccinated within the next 10 days.
The vaccination campaign aimed to cover 3 00285 children, and so far, 279,520 children have been vaccinated, accounting for 93.8% of the target. Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain urged for continued efforts to reach the remaining children and successfully complete the vaccination program.
He expressed his hope that the vaccination target would be achieved before the end of the campaign.
City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Ashraful Amin, Divisional Health Officer Dr. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam, and City Corporation Chief Health Officer Imam Hossain Rana also shared their thoughts during the meeting.
