DHAKA, May 12, 2026(BSS) - Mir Shahe Alam was born on August 7, 1970, in Bogura. He has maintained a deep-rooted connection to Shibganj upazila, which serves as the foundation of his political identity. He is the fifth of the six children of Mosammat Rajena Begum and the late Mir Mozzafar Rahman.

His student life began in Shibganj. He studied at Shibganj M.H. College in Bogura and later completed an MBA degree. Shahe Alam began his student politics in 1989 as a member of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of the BNP.

He progressed through the party’s student organization, serving as Secretary of the Shibganj Upazila Chatradal in 1991 and Joint Secretary of the District Chatradal in 1992.

His formal political career began with his being elected as Chairman of Atmul Union Parishad in 1997 at the age of 23. 

In 2002, he was appointed Convener of Shibganj Poura BNP. In 2009, he was elected Chairman of Shibganj Upazila Parishad. In 2010, he served as Secretary of the upazila BNP and Organising Secretary of the Bogura District Committee. In 2013 and 2022, he was elected and subsequently reappointed as President of Shibganj Upazila BNP. In 2022, he was appointed Vice-President of the Bogura District BNP. In 2026, Mir Shahe Alam was elected Member of Parliament from the Bogura-2 constituency and took oath as the State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives.

Alongside his successful political career, he is a well-established entrepreneur and served as the Chairman of Ruposhi BD Group. His business interests span across the sectors such as agro, nutrition and human resource management, contributing meaningfully to economic activity and employment generation.

He has remained actively engaged in public service as well, having served two terms as a Director of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC). In addition, he contributed to the development of the industrial sector through his role as a Director of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC).

He places strong emphasis on education and sports as key drivers of social development. In line with this vision, he has established and supported several educational institutions, madrasas, orphanages and sports facilities in his region. 

These initiatives have played a significant role in expanding access to education, promoting social welfare and fostering the physical and mental development of the younger generation at the grassroots level.

His family has long been associated with politics. His uncle, Mir Abu Jaker Maku, has served for many years as the President of the Atmul Union BNP in Shibganj Upazila. His elder brother, Mir Ainur Rahman, has also been actively engaged as the Vice President of Shibganj Poura BNP for a long time. This political legacy continues into the next generation, with his eldest son, Mir Shakhrul Alam Simanto, serving as the Student Affairs Secretary of Shibganj Upazila BNP. 

In his personal life he was married to Mir Laboni Akter. They are the parents of two sons, Mir Shakhrul Alam Simanto and Mir Saklain Alam Diganto and a daughter, Mir Samara Sunat Kayanat. His spouse is actively involved in various social welfare initiatives in both Dhaka and Bogura, further strengthening the family’s overall contribution to the community development and social service.
