DHAKA, May 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Supreme Court Legal Aid Office has provided direct legal assistance in 3,392 cases, a report published on the website of the organisation said here today.
The report highlighted various activities of the organisation from 2009 to March 2026.
According to the report, the SC Legal Aid Office officially began its operations on September 8 in 2015. Since then, a total of 30,474 people have received services through the office up to March 2026.
Among the beneficiaries, 11,649 were women, 18,818 were men and seven were children.
During this period, direct legal assistance was provided in 3,392 cases through the SC Legal Aid Office, of which 2,332 cases have been resolved. In addition, 27,082 legal consultation services were provided.
The activities are being conducted by the National Legal Aid Services Organization under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Under the Legal Aid Services Act, legal assistance is being provided at government expense to financially insolvent and underprivileged justice seekers.
