GAZIPUR, May 12, 2026 (BSS) - Gazipur Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan on Tuesday visited Kashimpur High Security Central Jail and inspected the overall management and security arrangements of the prison.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner observed the prison environment, inmates’ accommodation facilities, food supply system, medical services, security measures and various ongoing activities inside the jail. 

He also provided necessary directives to the officials concerned for improving prison management and inmate welfare.

Nurul Karim Bhuiyan exchanged views with prisoners and listened to their complaints and problems. He instructed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to resolve issues that could be addressed promptly.

Speaking after the inspection, Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan said prisons should not only serve as detention facilities but also function as effective centres for correction and rehabilitation. He stressed the need to further expand human development and rehabilitation programmes for inmates.

Additional District Magistrate Salma Khatun, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Arif Hossain, Senior Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail Mohammad Abdullah-Al-Mamun, along with other prison officials and staff, were present during the visit.
