CHATTOGRAM, May 9, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Lands and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has praised the role of Chattogram District Red Crescent and Jamieson Red Crescent Maternity Hospital in serving humanity. 

He said this at a discussion meeting on the occasion of World Red Cross, Red Crescent, and International Nurses Day-2026 at the Jamieson Red Crescent Maternity Hospital in Andarkilla here today.

The event was chaired by Mohammad Asif Chowdhury, Vice-Chairman of the Jamison Red Crescent Matrisadan Hospital Management Committee, and moderated by Mohammad Jahangir Alam, former secretary of the Chattogram Zila Red Crescent Unit and member of the hospital management committee.

Local parliament member Abu Sufian were present as special guest on the occasion.

Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin emphasized the core values of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, highlighting humanity, compassion, and volunteerism. 

He praised Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s vision for development of health and education sectors, and humanitarian aid activities in the country. 

Abu Sufian, MP, lauded the commendable efforts of the Red Crescent in assisting the helpless and disadvantaged people.
