NATORE, May 9, 2026 (BSS) - The foundation stone for the construction of the
Naldanga Municipality building in Natore was laid on Saturday, marking the
start of a development project worth Taka 82.7 crore.
M. Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu, whip of the National Parliament and Member of
Parliament for the Natore-2 constituency, inaugurated the project work around
12:30 pm as the chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural function held on the premises of the temporary
municipality building, Dulu said the current government, led by Prime
Minister Tarique Rahman, is committed to ensuring the country's development
and public welfare.
"The country will move forward on the path of development and progress.
Alongside development, we also want to ensure good governance for the
people," he said while seeking cooperation from all sections of society in
strengthening development and governance initiatives.
The event was chaired by Naldanga Municipality Administrator and Naldanga
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ashiqur Rahman. Upazila Nirbahi Officer
(UNO) Md. Al Emran Khan was present as special guest.
Among others present were former Chairman of Naldanga Upazila Parishad (UP)
Advocate Sakhawat Hossain, former Mayor of Natore Municipality Kazi Shah
Alam, BNP leader Farhad Ali Dewan Shahin, and local political and
administrative officials.
