DHAKA, May 7, 2026 (BSS) – Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested three alleged extortionists and drug peddlers during a drive in the capital’s Paltan area.

The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Al Amin, 24, Russell Sheikh, 23 and Md Hasan, 31.

The information said in a press release signed by Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division NM Nasiruddin today.

According to CTTC sources, a special team of its City-Admin and Logistics Division conducted the drive on the footpath near Gate No. 3 of the stadium under Paltan Model Police Station at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday.

During the drive, law enforcers recovered 200 grams of cannabis from their possession.

The arrested persons were later sent to court.
