DHAKA, May 7, 2026(BSS)-A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident by a pickup van near Sultana Kamal Bridge area under Demra Police Station here in the capital today.

The victim was identified as Md Saddam Hossai aged about 30 years. 

Kakon Miah, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Demra Thana said, the accident occurred at the west end of Sultana Kamal Bridge at about 10 am when the pickup van knocked Sadam Hossain while he was driving his motorcycle. Local people rushed to the spot, rescued him and sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead.

Saddam Hossain was the son of Abdul Latif of village Mashar under Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj district. He was an employee of a private company.

Police said lawful action would be taken against the pickup van after scrutinizing video footages of the area.
