DHAKA, May 4,2026 (BSS) – Dr.Aminul Islam today joined Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) as its Director General (DG).

Prior to the new position, Dr.Aminul Islam was Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and Head of the BRRI Regional Station, Sonagazi, said a BRRI press release here today. 

He began his career as a Scientific Officer of the institute on 20 August 1998 and devotedly performing his duties at different positions for  nearly 28 years.

Dr. Aminul Islam was born on 1 July 1971 at Chowria village under Nabinagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria district. 

At present, he is recognized as one of the senior scientists in the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) of Bangladesh. He has more than80 research publications in different prestigious journals home and abroad.
