Australia keen to provide capacity-building training to CTTC officials

DHAKA, May 4, 2026 (BSS) - The Chargé d’Affaires of the Australian High Commission, Clinton Pobke, visited the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and held a courtesy meeting with CTTC Chief Md. Masud Karim.

The meeting took place at the CTTC office this morning, according to a press release.

Both sides discussed strengthening cooperation in counterterrorism efforts, including intelligence sharing, capacity building, and expanding joint initiatives. 

They also emphasized addressing regional security challenges and emerging threats through coordinated actions.

The Australian side expressed interest in providing training support to enhance the capabilities of Bangladesh Police and CTTC.

The meeting is expected to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Australia, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to working closely on counterterrorism initiatives.
