SNMB forms 23-member committee

DHAKA, May 4, 2026 (BSS) – A 23-member executive committee of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, Bangladesh (SNMB) for the 2026–2028 term was formed at its 29th National Conference held in the capital.

Professor Dr. Md. Sanowar Hossain was elected president, while Professor Dr. A.K.M. Fazlul Bari and Professor Dr. Zinat Jebin were elected senior vice-president and general secretary respectively, said a press release. 

Professor Dr. Abu Bakar Siddique was elected treasurer.
 
The new president sought cooperation from all and expressed gratitude to the outgoing committee.
Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Prof. Dr. Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain attended the conference as chief guest, held recently at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel.

About 50 scientific papers on contemporary issues in nuclear medicine were presented, focusing on advancements in diagnosis, therapy and research, particularly in cancer care.

SNMB President Professor Dr. Faria Nasrin presided over the programme, while Secretary General Professor Dr. Nahid Hossain highlighted the organization’s activities. 

Young Scientist Awards were distributed at the event, while speakers underscored the need for enhanced research efforts and greater international collaboration in the field.
