DHAKA, April 27, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,399 cases for various traffic law violations across different areas of the capital.
According to DMP Traffic sources, the drive was carried out across different divisions of the city, resulting in the following cases.
In Ramna Division, a total of 93 cases were filed against five buses, three covered vans, 14 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 44 motorcycles.
In Lalbagh Division, 174 cases were filed against 10 buses, 19 trucks, two covered vans, 17 CNGs and 97 motorcycles.
In Motijheel Division, 285 cases were filed against 19 buses, two trucks, 12 covered vans, 64 CNGs and 139 motorcycles.
In Wari Division, 80 cases were filed against16 buses, one truck, four covered vans, five CNGs and 20 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, in Tejgaon Division, 225 cases were filed against three buses, two trucks, 13 covered vans and 42 CNGs.
In Mirpur Division, 225 cases were filed against six buses, nine trucks, 11 covered vans, 31 CNGs and 128 motorcycles.
In Uttara Division, 233 cases were filed against 27 buses, one truck, 11 covered vans, 59 CNGs and 69 motorcycles.
In Gulshan Division, 84 cases were filed against 11 buses, two trucks, 11 covered vans, two CNGs and 20 motorcycles.
During the drive, a total of 255 vehicles were impounded and 168 vehicles were towed.
Police said that such operations by the DMP Traffic Division will continue to maintain traffic discipline in Dhaka’s streets.
