CHATTOGRAM, April 25, 2026 (BSS) - At least 16 international flights were cancelled at Shah Amanat International Airport over the past seven days.
However, airport officials said flight operations have improved significantly following a ceasefire in the Middle East.
A total of 16 international flights were cancelled between April 18 and April 24, said a press release today signed by the airport's Public Relations Officer, Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil.
The cancelled flights included one arrival and two departures operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, one departure by US-Bangla Airlines, four arrivals and four departures by Air Arabia, and two arrivals and two departures by SalamAir.
Ibrahim Khalil said international flights to Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are gradually resuming after the ceasefire, while operations on the Chattogram-Doha route have also restarted and are expected to return to normal soon.
The airport authority reported that a total of 338 international flights have been cancelled since February 28 due to the war situation in the Middle East, including 16 in the last seven days.
Authorities added that coordination among relevant organisations is helping reduce passenger inconvenience as stability gradually returns to international flight operations.
